David Kenneth Manchee

Dave was born on March 10, 1948 and raised in Chicago, IL. He later moved to Sandy Springs, GA and graduated from Sandy Springs High School in 1966. Dave was a proud Bulldog, graduating from the University of Georgia in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and earning his MBA from Kent State University in 1981.

He married his best friend and love of his life, Katherine Manchee in 1972 in Savannah, GA. The couple had three children, five grandchildren, and a lifetime of memories together.

Dave was an advertising sales leader over four decades, representing The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, and Budget Travel, before shifting his career to a partner at executive search firm, PointClear Search, for the last decade.

He was the founding president and board member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Advertising Association, where he was recognized for outstanding service with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Dave held board positions with the American Advertising Federation of Dallas and the UGA Alumni Association Dallas Area Chapter. He was a mentor to past employees, colleagues, and rising advertising and sales professionals.

In his spare time, Dave enjoyed vacationing with family, golfing with friends, tending to his garden, and cheering for all the local Dallas sports teams and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a masterful storyteller, humorist, and collector of great jokes. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving husband, proud father, and doting grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Davis Manchee, and mother, Shirley Ann Manchee.

Dave is survived by his faithful wife of 51 years, Kathy Manchee, their three children Stacy (Josh) Koch of Scottsdale, AZ, Zachary (Amy) Manchee of Greenville, TX, and Ryan (Lisa) Manchee of Frisco, TX, five grandchildren Emily, Ellie, Grayson, Charlie, and Savannah, as well as siblings Linda (Chuck) Kosich and Peter (Tessie) Manchee, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Visitation at Ted Dickey West Funeral home will be Thursday, August 3rd, at 5:00pm. Funeral Service will take place at St. Andrew Methodist Church on Friday, August 4th, 2023 at 1:00pm, with a reception to follow.
