David was born in Laredo, Texas on September 3, 1995. He was raised by his mother, America Lopez. David was the oldest of three and from an early age it was clear that he had a servant's heart. The moment his younger sister was brought home, he immediately felt the need to tend to her so his mother could rest.
As David made his way through school, never once did he cross paths with a soul that was not fond of him. He always saw the best in others regardless of the circumstances. Although he was a person of few words there are not enough words in the dictionary that can fully capture his big heart and personality- “energetic, kind, dedicated, dependable” are just a few. Towards the end of his high school days, David knew his calling was to serve. His senior year at JJ Pearce High School, David made the decision to enlist to the United States Marine Corps .
After years of service in the Corps, his brothers and sisters of arms had these words to express, “Corporal Jara, you are a true adjutant shop hero. You are dedicated, funny, knowledgeable, and a dependable United States Marine. You bring motivation and smiles to the atmosphere while getting the mission completed. You will be greatly missed but never forget that your MCESG adjutant shop family will always be a part of your life.” Once again David is remembered as a hero, a friend, a brother, an uncle, a son but most of all a MARINE.
While serving, David began his Associate’s Degree. He graduated with an Associate of Science Degree from Brookhaven College in 2019. David continued his education and received his BBA in finance. He was part of the Spring 2022 graduating class of University of North Texas, Denton.
One of David’s most prominent roles in life was his role as an uncle to his sister’s son, Michael. He was always eager to spend time with Michael and witnessing the smiles they shared is a true testament to their loving bond.
While his favorite hobbies included video games, trying new Japanese cuisines, and traveling, David’s best times were spent with his most beloved family. Spending time with his brothers and nephew was always a guaranteed way to bring a smile to David’s face. In all things he did, David prioritized the happiness of others. He will best be remembered for his big heart and the joy he brought to everyone he knew.
David is survived by his Mother, America Lopez, Brothers Daniel Juan Jara & Jonathan Roy Jara, his sister Angelica Europa Jara and his nephew Michael Gabriel Jara. His service will be at Gonzalez funeral home on Sunday, March 27th at 1:00 pm CST.
