Consuelo Veliz

Consuelo Véliz Galvan, age 94, passed away peacefully alongside her loving family on August 25, 2023, in Dallas, Texas, joining her husband, Salathiel Véliz Villaseñor, and her two sons, Gustavo Véliz and Salathiel Véliz Jr. in their eternal home.

Consuelo was born in Durango, Mexico on March 3rd, 1929, to her parents Eduardo Galvan Lerma and Antonia Aragon Serrano. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother to 100 family members.

Consuelo lived her years being a nurturing and kind woman who was empathetic, loving, and charismatic. She had a passion for music and singing. Being a lover of the arts, Consuelo learned to share her fondness over music with her children and was always seen swaying her hips to many of her favorite songs. One of her many hobbies was listening to the alluring, and enchanting voices of her children whenever they sung her favorite tunes. Her presence lit up any room and her beautiful smile remained in the hearts of her family as she was often seen dancing to the music that brought joy and comfort to her.

Consuelo and Salathiel shared a passion for the music and flourished their romantic bond and similar likes into a beautiful family of 100 members. After the death of her husband Salathiel, Consuelo remained strong and caring towards her children and ultimately, continued on living her golden years with those she loved most. She was very protective of her family and made sure no harm came their way. As a maternal figure and a representation of the Véliz family, Consuelo paved the way for her children to share her ideologies and pass them down for generations to come.

As a woman of love and nurture, Consuelo became a second mother figure for her grandchildren, creating fond memories and sharing smiles with them. She reluctantly became protective of them, making sure they were well-fed, clothed, and were most importantly, loved. Consuelo’s grandchildren throughout their adolescent years went to her as a guidance and a figure of maternity. Later on in life, Consuelo knew she had done her job before exiting this world by making sure each of her grandchildren became compassionate, wonderful, and kind individuals.

Consuelo is survived by her 7 loving children: Leticia Nieves, Yolanda Uribe, Maria Véliz, Elizabeth Véliz, Roberto Véliz, Julieta Véliz, and Oscar Véliz, along with her 30 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great children who will always love and cherish her and the fond memories they created.

Consuelo’s kind and beautiful spirit will be greatly cherished and missed by her family. She will remain in their hearts for all eternity. Her voice has embellished the world and became a symbol of love for the Véliz family.
