Charlene Carleton, 91, died after a long struggle with congestive heart failure on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. She was born on September 4, 1928, to Lilly Pinkerton and John York in Muskogee, OK. She was married in 1949 to Robert Clark for 35 years until his death in 1984. She was then remarried in 1988 to Douglas Carleton for 30 years until his death in 2018.
Charlene was a lifelong volunteer for numerous organizations including the Golden Acres Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged, the American Heart Association, La Femme du Monde, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens and the Boy Scouts of America.
Charlene is survived by her son Ron Clark, her daughter Ellen Clark, her grandchildren Josie, Austin, James, and Robert and 4 great-grandchildren. Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 25th at Lovers Lane UMC in Dallas and buried in Burleson at 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
