She was born October 4, 1953 to Don and Annette Flanders. In 1973, Carol married Michael W. Fields and raised three children. They divorced in 1998.
Carol found her soul mate, Steve Miner, whom she married in 2008. Steve passed away in 2010 taking part of Carol's heart with him. In 2013, Carol moved to Oregon to marry Everett Morley.
In August, 2014, she moved to Plano, TX to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Kent Harrington.
At her first child’s third birthday party, Carol discovered that she had a fondness towards clowns. She soon joined others in the Kansas City area in a Christian ministry through clowning. Her clowning opened to face painting. She painted faces at fairs, parties and charity events and recently enchanted the hospital staff with their personal caricature drawings. Her watercolor and acrylic paintings of flowers and scenery will be treasured by her children.
Carol was an accomplished and nationally certified balloon artist who created unique designs such as bouquets of flowers made with balloons that were not inflated and dresses of woven balloons.
Carol inherited artistic talent from her Mom, and the ability to engineer designs from her Dad.
During their eleven years together, Carol and Steve became Kansas City’s most famous Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus couple, entertaining thousands of children at private parties, corporate and charity events.
Besides being successful in art, she learned to become a successful business woman with Steve’s help and her involvement in women’s networks.
Carol had a heart of giving. People didn't have a choice but to love her. Those dancing blue eyes loved life's adventures. Two of her favorite quotes were: “Get up, Dress up and Show up!” and, “The dash in-between the years of life is what living is all about.”
Carol is survived by her three children, Michelle (Brian) Jensen; Chris (Lisa) Fields, their two sons and soon-to-be baby daughter; Jesse (Jasmin) Fields; and Andy (Shannon) Miner and their two sons and Brian Miner.
Carol is also survived by her siblings: Don (Wink) Flanders; Jean (Kent) Harrington; Marilyn (Dan) Hill.
