Blake Carroll Tucker was lifted into Heaven peacefully on Tuesday morning, June 2, after battling Parkinson’s Disease for 25 years with amazing strength and courage. Born October 12, 1934 in Waco, Texas, “Waco Blako” was a football star at both Waco High and SMU. Following graduation from college, he entered the Air Force which led to an exceptionally successful career as an entrepreneur in property development at Love Field. He married his lifelong love and dance partner, Sandra Owens Tucker, 60 years ago. He was smart, a savvy business man, endlessly generous, selfless, and bold in his faith in Christ. He was loved by many who remember his amazing sense of humor, and was the life of the party wherever he went, whether he was with family and friends or at his “day camp,” the 19th hole at Dallas Country Club. Almost everyone has a hilarious Blake Tucker story. A devoted family man, he is survived by loving wife Sandra, his children Gregory Blake Tucker and wife Cindy and Lori Tucker and her son, his proud namesake Blake Tucker Carrington. He was loved and adored by his brothers-in-law, Jay Owens and Larry Owens, who thought of him as a father, along with their wives, Kathy and Jane and their children and grandchildren. His family and friends, while heartbroken, are rejoicing knowing that our “free spirit” is indeed free in Heaven. Tons of ice cream, lots of laughter, and nailing it on the golf course—it’s a good day in Heaven! Services will be held Saturday, June 6 at 2:00 at Sparkman/Hillcrest, 7405 W. Northwest Highway in Dallas. Contributions in his memory may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, 9330 N. Central Expressway Dallas, Texas 75231 or to UT Southwestern Medical Center, P.O. Box 910888, Dallas, Texas 75391-0888 or online at www.utsouthwestern.edu/donatenow to support Parkinson’s Disease research under the direction of Dr. Richard Dewey.
