My memories of Bill go back to junior high when my oldest friend, Lisa, became an Episcopalian.  She was always welcome at the Episcopal church I grew up in, but for some reason she fell madly in love with St. Barnabas. Once she joined the church, she never missed a Sunday or a youth group meeting.  I soon realized that Lisa was indeed in love but not with the church.  She was in love with one of the church's faithful members, Bill.  In high school she, Bill, I and my high school sweetheart double dated and swam in her pool together.  My first love faded away, but Lisa's Bill stayed forever.  I am so grateful for Bill and the way he made my friend  happy.  When Lisa spoke of Bill, even after years of marriage, she had the same smile she had as an eighth grader in love for the first time.  Bill, rest in peace my friend.

Mine is one of the homes that benefited from Bill's wonderful talents. Each time I climb the stairs from my garage to my house and don't break my neck, I will think of and thank Bill. Each time I look out my window into my back yard, I will get to admire the deck he transformed. Each time I don't fall through my tile floor, I will smile in gratitude because he ensured what was previously improperly supported is now sturdy and stable. He was very skilled, to be sure, and I am struggling to imagine what it will be like not to have him as a trusted and fun help on future projects.

But what I will miss most are his warmth, humor, and great smile, as well as witnessing the wonderful rapport he and my mother Susan had as they worked on projects at her and my father's house . Those two were peas in a pod, problem-solving, re-configuring spaces, and bringing the many designs they worked on together to fruition. Each time we cook in their beautiful kitchen or sit on the back porch, we will think of Bill.

My heartfelt condolences to his wonderful family - some of whom I have had the privilege of meeting over the past year - and to his beloved Toby. Bill doted on my parents' dog Dini and my dog Basil, so I can only imagine how loved and treasured his own pup was. Huge hugs to you all.

The world lost a really great guy.  Bill was my "cool" uncle.  I looked up to Bill in a lot of ways.  I have so many great memories of Bill that I'll just have to keep it short.  One of the immediate memories that comes to mind when I think of Bill is all the basketball games we played during fourth of July cookouts.  Bill was always in charge of the grill and cooking up all of the food during our swimming/holiday cookouts.  (His food was great by the way!  Remember those super hot links he would grill, or his infamous recipe he named "slop" that had seemingly every ingredient known to man?!?  Both delicious. )  Anyway, as I was saying,  he ALWAYS made a point to shoot some hoops with me and the family.  He was a great player and it was so fun to play against him.  When I was little, my friends and I were basically an army of children hanging from his arms and trying to score baskets.  So much fun!  I remember one time he took me to the local basketball court to play against some older guys who were college aged when I was still in high school.  Bill and I (mostly Bill) whooped up on those guys and we talked about it the entire walk home.  He had me convinced I was destined for the NBA.  So supportive and super fun day with my very cool uncle.    

Finally, I simply have to say that Bill was absolutely the funniest member of the family by far, and one of the funniest people I've ever known.  Bill could tell a joke and was the life of the party!  Oh my gosh, he was so quick witted and had a joke for every subject.   Bill was flat out hilarious. Period.   Great sense of humor is an understatement.   Both of us were huge Cowboy fans, but nothing made me laugh harder than when he would give his football analysis of how poorly our beloved Cowboys were playing.  I'll really miss his sense of humor.  Rest in peace cool uncle Bill, you will be missed by so many.
