Ben Rob Robinson Murphy Jr.

Ben Robinson Murphy Jr, "Rob", much loved son of Ben and Carol Murphy, passed away in Dallas on December 31, 2017. Rob was born on June 8, 1966 in Nashville, Tennessee but spent the majority of his years living in Dallas. He was a high school graduate of St. Marks School of Texas and went on to earn a bachelor of science degree from Northern Arizona University where he graduated summa cum laude.

He had a compassion for helping those in need which led him to pursue an additional degree from National Park College School of Nursing in Hot Springs, Arkansas. While in Hot Springs he found fulfillment working with others at Quapaw House and upon returning to Dallas continued his work with others at Dallas Metro Care.

Rob had a quick wit that was contagious to those around him, a loving heart and a bright mind. He loved his regular workouts at the Cooper Fitness Center. Rob enjoyed a spirited conversation about the latest Dallas Cowboy football game especially those on Thanksgiving day where he could also take part in the Dallas Turkey Trot with his mom.

Rob was preceded in death by his father, Ben R. Murphy and is survived by his mother, Carol T. Murphy; sisters Robin Satyshur (Gary), Maris Davis (Mark) and Shannon Towe (Eddie) as well as an extended family of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family extends our deepest gratitude to Diana Cooper for her continued friendship and support of Rob. He was well loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service for Rob will be held at noon on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home.
