Ann Christine Zahn

Ann Christine Zahn, age 91, of Mesquite, Texas passed away April 10, 2023. She was born on March 9, 1932 in Clegg, Texas to Raymond Michka and Miroslafka (Slivena) Shmoldas-Michka. Ann was raised in Clegg and Crockett, Texas and graduated from Lovelady High School in Lovelady, Texas. She was married to her husband, Walter John Zahn, for more than 50 years. She was a bookkeeper for the EPA where she worked for many years. In her spare time, Ann enjoyed gardening, genealogy research, and keeping up with friends and relatives by phone, cards and letters. Her family and friends will always remember her as a caring person who was meticulous with detail, especially in her work.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter John Zahn; parents, Raymond and Slivena Michka; brothers, Raymond Michka, Jr. and George Michka; and sister, Mary Alice Burgess. Ann is survived by her daughter, Barbara Walker and son-in-law, Mark Walker of Allen, Texas; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tara Doherty and Brian Doherty, and great-grandson, Everett Doherty of Dallas, Texas; brother, Louis Michka and wife, Shirley; brother, Joe Ed Michka and wife, Shirley; brother, Jerry Michka and wife, Linda; brother, Julius Michka and wife, Janet; brother, Fred Michka; sisters-in-law, Joyce Michka and Marice Michka, along with several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, family requests gifts be made to the S.P.J.S.T. of Temple, Texas.

A funeral service for Ann will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75228.
