Anita Garrett, age 76, passed away surrounded by love August 23, 2017. She was born September 11, 1940. She is survived by Don Garrett, her childhood sweetheart, love of her life and best friend. Anita met Don at the age of 14 after being introduced by her mother Lora Lee Penix because she knew Don was a very special young man. They married March 12, 1959 and had a wonderful loving marriage of 57 years. This is what represented Anita's life, her family. Anita is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws: Debra and Steve Stinson, Denise and Chuck Mathews, and Leslie and Jim Coke; six grandchildren: Zach Mathews and wife (Jackie), Brandon Mathews, Reagan Stinson, Carlee Stinson, Jordan Coke, and Nikki Coke; and 6 great grandchildren.
Anita was deeply loved by many, and she will be truly missed. The world was a better place because of her kindness and love. She led a life with a commitment to true love and the importance of family. The impression her love and commitment to family has made to those around her will live on and continue to make the world a better place to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
