AnaLise died June 25, 2020 from complications of COVID 19. She moved mountains to stay with them for as long as she could. The friendships formed with her doctors and nurses through her long struggle meant as much to her as their exemplary competence.
Ana had a huge heart and a ready laugh, a sharp wit, and a fighting spirit.
If she was in your corner, you knew you had a formidable ally—when Ana wanted something, she went all in.
She cared fiercely for her girls, her husband, and all her family and friends.
AnaLise was born November 28, 1972. She was baptized Anastacia Elise. Her name was immediately abbreviated to AnaLise and Ana.
Her formal education was spent in St. Paul’s Catholic School and Providence High School in San Antonio where at both schools she excelled in volleyball and forged lifetime friendships. The Brigidine Sisters and the Sisters of the Congregation of Divine Providence reinforced the values her parents found most valuable, like kindness and social justice. She also attended Texas State University (then Southwest Texas University) and Richland College in Dallas.
AnaLise worked in the financial industry in Dallas where again she made wonderful friends.
As a stay-at-home Mom she spent many hours volunteering at her daughters’ school until illness overcame her.
AnaLise is survived by her husband Donald Gene “Bubba” Long and her daughters Molly Virginia, Zoey Ellen, and Katherine Terese “Kate.”
Her parents Dan Cernoch, Janis Jarosek and John Browning.
Her brother Zak Cernoch and his wife Carmen and their daughters Julianne and Madeline.
When Jan and John married, Ana grabbed hold of two additional siblings: Steve and his wife Linda Browning, and Sondra and her husband Kevin Witt.
Nephews and nieces Kevin Browning, Lauren and Brendan Fosberry, and Olivia and Aaron Snow.
Sister-in-law Cathy Long Borne and niece Haley Borne.
A host of adoring aunts and uncles and cousins survive her as well.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Margie Dearing Long and grandparents John and Virginia Jarosek and Joe and Loretta Cernoch.
Remembrance Gatherings will take place in Dallas and San Antonio at future dates during more appropriate times. AnaLise would insist on the safety of everyone she loved.
