Alice Marie Breidenbach Lucas, 81, of Dallas, entered Heaven on June 9, 2014. Alice was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 27, 1932, the youngest daughter of Judge Otto Henry Breidenbach and Louise Andre Breidenbach. Alice lived a wonderful and eventful life. She married Richard (Dick) Lucas in 1951 and together they had seven children. Dick and Alice moved between Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and Missouri. In Montgomery, Ohio, Alice was voted “Mother of the Year” by the local paper for which she was quite proud. She also loved to organize and host Book Clubs with her many friends. Alice served as the Troop leader for her daughter’s girl scouts. Upon the death of husband Dick Lucas in 1970, Alice assumed the task of raising seven children ages six to eighteen. Alice persevered choosing not to live a life of bitterness. Quite the contrary, Alice’s enthusiasm for living was evident each day of her life. Alice never met a stranger, always wanting to connect with someone new. In 1976, Alice moved to Dallas, Texas and began forming lasting relationships with countless new friends. She had a fondness for dogs, especially wire fox terriers. Alice was a member of the Northwood Woman’s Club, which included volunteering with Meals on Wheels for many years. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Louise Breidenbach, brothers Walter Breidenbach and John Breidenbach and sisters Margaret Lenke and Ruth Breidenbach. Her loving Son, David Otto Lucas, tragically passed away in 1998. Alice is survived by daughter Barbara and husband Dale (Moll). Daughter Nancy and husband Steve (Keuss). Daughter Anne Lucas, Daughter Susan and husband Taylor (Randall). Son Mark Lucas and wife Kristi, Son Bob Lucas and wife Kim. Eleven Grandchildren Alexander Moll, Carson Moll, Lauren Saez, David Keuss, Nancy Keuss, Natalie Keuss, Alice Lucas, Otto Lucas, Faith Lucas, David Lucas, Nick Lucas. Four great grandchildren Elijah, Nathanial, Willa, and Adriana. The family gives those who lovingly cared for Alice sincere gratitude including the Legacy of Willow Bend Rehab Center in Plano, Texas; Steven Leach M.D.; Thomas Froehlich, M.D; Vaqar Dar, M.D.; Reverend April Johnson Bristow.
