Albert Wayne Lapoint

Albert Wayne LaPoint graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1970, and went on to graduate from Bishop College in 1974 with a degree in Accounting.

Albert met and married Vivian, and to this union one daughter was born.

Albert accepted Christ at an early age at Rock Island Baptist Church, he later became a member at New Mount Zion Baptist Church.

He was loved and known for his genuineness, generosity, and compassion. He touched the lives of everyone he met. He was blessed with the ability to effortlessly make others smile and laugh. He loved his family dearly.

Albert peacefully entered eternal rest on February 13, 2024. He was welcomed into his eternal home of glory by his parents, Harry LaPoint, Sr., Lela Newkirk LaPoint Jolivet, and Charles Jolivet; his wife, Vivian A. LaPoint; sister, Sally Ann LaPoint; stepbrother, Joseph “Sonny Boy” Jolivet and stepsisters, Jeanette Dwyer, Charlene Jolivet, Shirley Jolivet and sister in-law, Galatha LaPointe.

Memories of Albert will be forever loved and cherished by daughters, Katonya LaPoint and Ronda Price; son, Patrick Laster; grandchildren, Makayla Jimmerson and Jaylon Lyons; brothers, Harry LaPointe, Jr. and Grant LaPoint (Phyllis); stepsisters, Willie Mae Jolivet-Diles and Alice Mae Jackson; two brother-in-laws, Rev. Nim Roy Range and R.J. Range, Jr. and one sister-in-law, Phyllis McCullough. Albert will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
