Adalbert Kamil Hilberth

Bill Hilberth, age 80, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 from respiratory failure that took him from us. Bill was born October 29, 1935 in Budapest, Hungary to Dr. Bela & Irene Schubert Hilberth. He was the oldest of three boys. Bill came to the United States at the age of thirteen not knowing the English language, and graduated with honors from Salesian High School in New Rochelle, NY in 1954. He attended Notre Dame University studying Electrical Engineering. Bill met the love of his life, Marilyn L. Tobolski in the dining hall at Notre Dame. They were married September 5, 1959 in South Bend, IN and were blessed with three children; a daughter Michele and two sons, Chris and Brian. Bill served his country in the Army, SPC4 and then went to work at Bendix Corporation as an Engineer. Club Management became his passion and he dedicated many years as General Manager at Lakeside Country Club in Houston, Austin Country Club and Dallas Country Club until his retirement in 2006. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship and mentorship to countless individuals. Bill was a devout Catholic and a servant to his church. Bill loved his Notre Dame and always cheered for the Fighting Irish. He was an avid fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and followed them when they moved to LA. He loved to read and enjoyed his classical music and opera. He was very passionate about politics, the Catholic faith and self-improvement, but his family was his world. Bill was a Board Member of the Dallas Wind Symphony, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Park Cities Rotary.

Bill is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 56 years; brothers, Tom and Kamill and families; his three children and their spouses: Michele Hilberth & George Gober, Chris & Kay Hilberth, Brian & Leslie Hilberth; and eight grandchildren, Catherine, Michael, Courtney, Blake, Brody, Andie, Brooks and Audrey.
