Michael Lee Smith, age 71, of Dallas, NC, passed away in the late evening of Tuesday evening September 17, 2024. Born on July 9, 1953. Michael dedicated 45 years of his life working at Wix Filters, a division of Mann-Hummel, where he was respected for his steadfast commitment and work ethic.
Michael found solace and community at Hardin Community Baptist Church in Dallas, NC, where he was an active member. His faith was an integral part of his life, guiding him in his daily interactions and personal endeavors.
Mike loved golfing and fishing. Above all, his greatest joy was the time he spent surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories and making memories.
Daughter, Misty Dockery, his parents, Henry and Geneva Smith and brothers, Arty Smith, Gary Smith, and Johnny Smith preceded Michael in death.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Smith, of the home; Daughter Brandie Mason and son-n-law Boyd Mason, stepchildren; Sunny Cline, Bobby Cline and Brandon Cline. Missing their grandfather are his Grandchildren, Austin Mason, Adrionna Mason, Aaron Mason and his wife Madalyn Mason, Hannah Cline, Gavin Mason, Sunny Cline, Hunter Ballard, Alyssa Ballard, Cassie Dockery and Jacob Skidmore. Mike also leaves behind his sisters, Debra Carroll, Detri Smith, Terry Poston, Barbara Summerlin and Phyllis Braswell as well as his sisters-in-law, Pat Smith, Susan Smith and Lou Smith.
A service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Hardin Community Baptist Church, 548 Hardin Road, Dallas North Carolina. The family will receive friends before the service beginning at 12:00 pm at the church. Michael will be laid to rest at the church’s cemetery immediately following the service. Pastor Justin Driver will officiate. Austin Mason, Aaron Mason, Boyd Mason, Bobby Cline, Shane Reel and Matt Braswell are Michael’s pallbearers.
