Daisy P. Kirksey, 96, passed away on Thursday January 17, 2019. Daisy was born December 21, 1922 in Dallas, NC. Daisy is the daughter of the late Sidney and Mertie (Clemmer) Kirksey. She attended Dallas School.
Daisy was a lifelong member of Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church in Dallas and the oldest living member of the church. Daisy was a G.A. leader, a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher. Daisy never married but had many nieces and nephews and was a loving part of their lives.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers and their spouses; Oakley and John Heafner, Cordie and Lawrence Ingle, Dovie and Fred McGee, Paul and Mattie Kirksey, Mary and Marvin McGinnis, Leach and Neil Brandon, David and Ava Lee Kirksey and infant sister Lillian Kirksey; brothers-in-law Morris Johnson, Edward Ashe and Gene Best.
Daisy is survived by twin sisters Mava K. Johnson and Myrtle K. Ashe Best.
Daisy retired from J.P. Stevens after 44 years. She was honored her with a retirement party, a plaque and a pin.
A celebration of Daisy’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday January 21, 2019 at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Long Creek Cemetery. Reverend Heath Honeycutt will officiate. Active pallbearers are Patrick Ashe, Bryan Ashe, Jason Ingle, Chris Adam and Gary Addington. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Ashe and Donnie Kirksey.
