Peter Palfrey Perkins

Peter is survived by his mother Anne Hervieux Perkins of Petersham, MA; daughter Sarah Louise Perkins of Fredericton, NB; daughter Anna Maria Perkins of Fredericton, NB; son Seth Wellington Perkins of Fort Assiniboine, AB; sister Louise Wellington Perkins of Salem, MA; brother David Holten Perkins of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren Aja Grace Dempsey, Dylan James Gillies, Thayne Sheldon Gillies, Jayla Anne Mallaley & Chayse Victoria Gillies, all of Fredericton, NB. Peter is preceded in death by his father, Reverend Arthur Wellington Perkins of Petersham, MA and grandson Joshua Seth Dempsey of Dalhousie, NB.

Peter was born on March 17th, 1952 in San Antonio, TX, to Anne H. Perkins (Paris, France) and Arthur W. Perkins (Boston, MA). He graduated from high school in Hingham, MA in 1970. He married Shelley M. Keddy of Brockway, NB in 1973. After exploring several interesting occupations the couple settled in Dalhousie, NB in 1980, and Peter started a career with NB Power as a thermal plant operator. He loved his job and remained with NB Power for the rest of his working career. Over the next few years they welcomed 3 children who will remember him as very kind, gentle, loving, intelligent, respectable man who loved his family very much. He was a pillar of knowledge, talent, creativity, generosity, and love.

Peter was a very accomplished self-taught musician, producer, writer and song writer who was a recognized talent within his community and industry. He was passionate about the English language, learning, teaching, cooking, and changing the world in bold and different ways. He had a tremendous number of friends and acquaintances from all walks of life, and across the globe. He had the kindest and most gentle soul that was easily felt in his presence.

Visitation will take place at Maher’s Funeral home in Dalhousie, NB on Tuesday, February 23rd from 7:00 - 9:00 pm, all are welcome to join us in celebration of Peters life/legacy. A funeral will follow in Brockway, NB in June of this year.
