Leslie was born on March 11, 1933 in Campbellton, NB to the late Harry Johnson and the late Edna May Williams.
Besides his wife Muriel, he is survived by his children: Richard (Dawn), Karen (Denis), Pam (Mike), Catherine (Curtis), Gary (Martha), April (Joel). His grandchildren: Crystal (Shawn), Jonathan (Aeron), Natalie (Chris), Amanda (Jeff), Justin (Lisa), Christopher (Krissy), Michelle (Matthew), Erika (Tyler), Sarah (Andrew), Kaila, Brittany (Gordon), Faith, Brighton, Chelsea, Nathan, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandaughter. He is also survived by his sister Audrey (Ontario) and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his infant son, daughter Debra and brothers: Herman, Gordon, Os and kindness during that difficult time.
A Funeral Service for Leslie will be held at Maher's funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton on Monday, July 22 at 2:00 pm

Leslie and his wife, Muriel, were married on November 3, 1951. They spent almost 73 years together. He retired from the Campbellton Nursing Home in 1991. Leslie was a devoted Christian, who loved his family and his pets. He was a great painter, both professionally and artistically. He enjoyed his hobbies, which included CB/Amateur Radio and numerous other endeavors. He coached hockey and loved the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The family would like to thank the Dalhousie Nursing Home for his care while he was there and to the staff of the Pallative Care Unit at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, who gave both him and his family exceptional care
