Gérard Charles Smith

Né à Dalhousie le 27 avril 1947, fils de feu Albert Smith et de feu Esther Arseneault.

Il a travaillé au CIL/Pioneer jusqu'à la retraite. Il était un grand amateur de chasse et pêche. Il aimait ses petits enfants de tout cœur.

Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Alberta Smith; son fils, Joel Smith de Dalhousie; sa fille, Nathalie Smith de Dalhousie; un frère, Patrick Smith de Dalhousie et 2 sœurs, Yvette (André) Smith de Dalhousie et Jeanne (Donat) Smith de Dalhousie; ses petits-enfants, Ethan, Ty et Rosalie, plusieurs nièces et neveux, et sa belle-sœur Irene Smith. Outre ses parents, il était prédécédé par deux frères, Albert et Robert et une sœur, Simonne Smith.

Les funérailles auront lieu à l’Église St. Jean Baptiste de Dalhousie, Lundi l3 janvier à 14h00.

Des dons au Manoir Ronald McDonald Atlantic, de Halifax seraient appréciés par la famille.

Les arrangements funéraires ont été confiés aux soins du Salon Funéraire Maher de Dalhousie.

Passed away at the Villa Renaissance in Dalhousie, on January 7, 2020 at the age of 72, Mr. Gérard Smith of Dalhousie, husband of Alberta (Perron) Smith.

Born in Dalhousie on April 27, 1947, son of the late Albert Smith and the late Esther Arseneault.

He worked at CIL / Pioneer until retirement. He was a great lover of hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren wholeheartedly.

He is survived by his wife Alberta Smith; her son Joel Smith of Dalhousie; his daughter, Nathalie Smith of Dalhousie; one brother, Patrick Smith of Dalhousie and 2 sisters, Yvette (André) Smith of Dalhousie and Jeanne (Donat) Smith of Dalhousie; her grandchildren, Ethan, Ty and Rosalie, several nieces and nephews, and his sister-in-law Irene Smith. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Robert and a sister, Simonne Smith.

The funeral will be held at St. Jean Baptiste Church in Dalhousie, Monday January 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Donations to Ronald McDonald Atlantic Manor in Halifax would be appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted in the care of Maher Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
