Martha A. Sanders,
born on January 16, 1938
to Pete and Adelia Walpole in Lake Village, Arkansas
The family moved to California in or around 1948 and settled in West Los Angeles.
She married young, had 7 children, 16 grand, 24 great, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Her first husband was Jim Tate (deceased June 19, 1995) m. 5 yrs., father of her first four children.
Her second husband was Billy Sanders (deceased Jan. 9, 2021) m. 39 yrs. father of her youngest three
children. (As well as fathering her first 4 children lovingly as if they were his own.)
She spent most of her life in So California, with the exception of moving to Duncan, Oklahoma in 1992
with her late husband Bill. At 60, she moved back to California and lived in Riverside, Culver City, and
for a short time for needed care, she lived in Placentia, and finally in Yorba Linda, CA
where she passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 23rd. 2024.
Martha was preceded by Pete and Adelia Walpole; parents, Michael Jines-Long; grandson,
Trisha Long-Lopez; great-granddaughter, and Walter Michael Lopez; great-great grandson.
Tinker Biffle and Eric Linker, sons-in-law and Lanny Twitchell, brother-in-law.
Martha blessed our world with:
Daughters; Sharon Biffle (Tinker) +2 grand and 9 great-grandkids
Rebecca Linker (Eric) + 1 grandson and 3 great-granddaughters and 3 great-great-grandkids
Deborah LeFrancois (Richard) + 3 granddaughters and 4 great-grandkids
son; James Tate, Jr., + 1 grandson
daughters; Janet Kovac (Rudy) + 1 grandson and 1 great-grandson
Vicki Lavengood (Ray) + 3 grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters
and LeeAnn Young + 5 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids.
Martha leaves behind beloved siblings:
sister Shirley Twitchell (Lanny) and brother Pete Walpole (Jeanne).
Her family was her greatest joy. She will always be cherished and remembered in our hearts.
Services will be held at Gates Kingsley Gates, in Culver City on Monday, May 20th. At 11:30 am.
