Armando Ortiz

Armando Ortiz Lomeli peacefully passed away Friday July 15th, 2016. He was born September 4th,1954 in Catarina Mexico to Jesus Ortiz And Felix Lomeli. He was the first born of 4 children being the only son. In the early 1970's he came to the United States in search of a better life and more opportunity. He first started working in the fields picking cherry's, strawberries and apples. After working there for a while he then found the opportunity he was searching for, he became a machinist. He began working for a company manufacturing airplane parts, he really enjoyed this work and was a master machinist for many years. During this time he met Juana Perez, they married in Santa Monica in 1976, they had four daughters, Silvia, Maria (Nini), Alondra (Prieta) and Jenny. Papi, as we liked to call him, would love to cook his favorite dishes, pozole, birria, chicharon and many others. Papi would like to go see the horses at the race track and hang out with his primos and friends. He also loved to watch his soccer games or el partido as he liked to call it. Papi will be greatly missed. Armando is survived by His Mother Felix Ortiz, his sisters, Irma Castro, Martha Ortiz and Julia Ortiz, his daughters Silvia, Maria, Alondra and Jenny, and grandchildren Jorge, Gabriela, Marissa, Isabella, Megan, Tiffany, Anthony and Matthew.
