Mrs. Norris was born, the only daughter of four children, to Maynard and Olive Loy in

Throughout her life, Shirley engaged in many artistic hobbies and was remarkably
accomplished in the handcrafts of crochet and embroidery.
She was a fierce BINGO player who also enjoyed fishing, crabbing and collecting
antiques, including an extensive doll and chocolate pot collection.
A true teenager of the 1950’s, Shirley loved Elvis, monster movies at the drive-in and
classic cars. She was a sock hop girl through and through.
An avid animal lover, Shirley gave a loving home to countless cats. She was especially
partial to Himalayans. She also enjoyed watching the many birds that would visit her
feeders.
A lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 7327, Shirley served in several
roles and enjoyed bringing comfort to those in need.
Shirley will be greatly missed by her family and friends alike. She is survived by her
husband of 66 years, Phillip Locke Norris, as well as their five children: Edward Locke
Norris, John Robert Norris, Richard Norman Norris, Shari Marie Barber and Lori Lynn
