Mrs. Ruth Butler Morton

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruth Morton, age 71 formerly of Logan/Crane Hill, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Emeus Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman making arrangements.

Mrs. Morton was born on May 2, 1941 in Cullman to the late Ted and Dola Hopson Butler; and passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Magnolia Ridge Care in Gardendale. Mrs. Morton was fond of trips, cooking, music; and dancing at the senior center was a favorite. Alabama football was a passion, and her flower and indoor plants were made more beautiful with her green thumb. While during her children’s school years, attending the Mortmer Jordan High School football games and then her grandkids ball games was extra special.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James K. Morton; one sister, Dorothy Suggs and one brother, Al Butler.

She is survived by two 2 – Sons – Tim (JoAnn) Morton and Terry (LeAnn) Morton; one Daughter – Trish (Marc) Haas; five 5 – Grandchildren – Trent & Alex Morton, Cayla Morton, Gage & Camron Morton; 2 – Great-Grandchildren – Lacey Myres and Paisley Fountain; two 2 – Sisters – Ovilea Sibert and Marie Jackson; five 5 – Nieces – Diane Reed, Beverly Towery, Connie Douglas, Donna Shelton and Debi Lynn; one Nephew – Keith Jackson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
