John was my big brother.  It wasn't until a few years ago that we found each thru the world of dna testing.  After connecting with John's daughter, Sharon, it wasn't long before I was  talking with and then meeting my big brother, John.  We connected right away.  He was warm and welcoming.  He immediately felt like home and called me Sis from our first phone call.
I will miss my brother. He will always be in my heart.

As a result of his daughter Sharon's  Ancestry.com DNA test  In 2018, John found a sister he never knew he had. Turns out, he now has two sisters named "Paula" - one he grew up with and one he was just getting to know.

Dad and I got to know one another in just the last few years but in that short time we not only became father and son in law but we became friends. We enjoyed talking and sharing stories and in general just doing "man stuff" as we made the effort of getting to know one another on a more personal level. Sometimes we would smoke a cigar and share a drink as we talked and learned to not only appreciate but to understand one another. I think I would have enjoyed getting to know him even better and believe we would have been closer if given the opportunity of more "time" together. Perhaps given a little more time, we could have shared a few more experiences like playing a round of golf and having a few more cook outs. We could have talked more about life and shared more ideas and viewpoints. I know he is with us in spirit, and I rest easy that he knows for sure my love for him and my love for his precious daughter Sharon.

Grampy always had a special bond with his grandson William. They both were a lot alike in many ways. 

Here's Dad fishing as a young man. His last wish was to go fishing one last time with his grandson William. Sadly, he died before that happened. I know he will be with William whenever he goes fishing from now on. 

Dad loved fishing all his life. He he is fishing while visiting family in Maine. 

Dad loved eating fresh Maine lobster. He introduced lobster to us kids and later regretted it - We LOVED it! Turns out we have expensive taste!

Until the day he died, Dad would talk about spending his childhood summers with his mother's family in Rumford, Maine. He would smile real big and talk about all the fun he and his siblings had at Camp with their cousins. He loved his Grammy and Grampy Falardeau dearly and adored all his aunts and uncles in Maine. 

So sorry for your loss.  Your dad was a wonderful person. I know he will be truly missed.
