Frank George Fink Jr.

Frank Fink, age 90, passed away at his home on November 9th. He was born in Cullman and graduated from St. Bernard Junior College and then transferred to Howard College (Samford) graduating in 1950 with a degree in Business Administration. He then enlisted with the United States Air Force proudly serving his country from 1950-1953 during the Korean Conflict. Frank worked with Liberty National Insurance before changing careers and becoming an electrical advisor for Cullman Electric Cooperative. This gave him an opportunity to work with area 4H clubs which he enjoyed doing until his retirement in 1992.

Frank was known for his outgoing personality and public relations skills which served him well in his community involvement. He served nine years (1972-1981) on the Cullman Medical Center Board of Directors holding offices of Secretary, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Board. He was honored by the Cullman Regional Foundation in 2006 by receiving the HG Arnold Humanitarian Award for his service to the hospital and the community. Frank also served on the Cullman Savings and Loan Board of Directors for 27 years and has been a Director Emeritus since 1980.

His faith was very important to him. He has been an active member of Sacred Heart Church his entire life serving in various church positions. He is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Frances; his parents Frank Sr. and Wilhemina Fink; infant grandson John Clark Eidson; granddaughter Natalie Frances Collier and brother Richard Carl Fink.

He is survived by four daughters, Susan Copeland of Cullman, Debra (Jasper) Levio of Calera, AL, Julie (Doug) Eidson of Atlanta, GA and Kathy (Jeff) Collier of Cullman. Surviving grandchildren are Thad Copeland (Ryan Bagley) of Bronx, NY, Bess (Justin) House of Athens, AL, Adam (Brashell) Collier of Cullman and Elizabeth, Patrick and Phillip Eidson of Atlanta, GA. He also has three great-grandchildren: Jack and Anna House of Athens, AL and Lenni Collier of Cullman.

We are very thankful to our sitter, Jenny, for the loving care she has provided both of our parents this past year. We would also like to thank Hospice of Cullman County for the compassionate care they have provided. You have been the hands and feet of Christ to us.

Due to the Covid pandemic, there will only be a private graveside service at Sacred Heart cemetery on December 1st. A memorial celebration will be held at a later time. The family appreciates your prayers and many acts of kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Cullman County (1938 Suite 102, AL Hwy 157 Cullman 35058) or to Sacred Heart Church designated to the Natalie Collier Memorial Fund (205 3rd Avenue SE, Cullman 35055).
