Cordis Holmes

Mr. Cordis Holmes of Cullman Alabama passed away on February 22, 2012 at Woodland Village Health Care and Rehab at the age of 89. Mr. Holmes was born on December 13, 1922 in Vinemont Alabama to Ira T. and Jessie Ray Holmes. Mr. Holmes was retired from Allstate Insurance Company. He was a graduate of The University of Alabama and an avid supporter of The Crimson Tide. He was a member of Cullman First Baptist Church, Zamora Temple Shrine, Cullman Masonic Lodge 421, Elks Lodge #1609 and American Legion Post #0004. Mr. Holmes is preceded in death by: Parents, 3 Brothers: Charles, Ben and Tignal Holmes, 2 Sisters: Helen Holmes Davis and Corky Holmes Gibbs.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Cullman City Cemetery with Dr. Edwin Hayes officiating.

Survivors are: Wife: Grace Williams Holmes of Cullman, Alabama 2 Daughters: Janice Holmes (Scott) Giddens of Gulf Breeze, Fl., Lisa Holmes (Mike) Locklin of Milton, Fl., 1 Son: David Cordis Holmes of Panama City, Fl., 1 Sister: Reba Holmes Chandler of Fairview, Al., 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.

The family request memorial donations be made to Cullman First Baptist Church Building Fund.
