Charles William Balch, a precious husband, warm father to three daughters, loyal friend to many and a man of immense faith passed away in his family home on May 12, 2016 in Crane Hill, Alabama. Charles was born April 5, 1930 in Madison County Alabama. He served God through years of service as a missionary in Russia. He was an US Army Veteran serving his country proudly in the Korean War, Charles continued to faithfully serve his country as an Engineer with NASA in Huntsville, Alabama at Marshall Space Flight Center. He is preceded in death by his father, John Edgar Balch, mother Effie Pike Balch and by his eldest daughter, Janice Marie Balch Richard.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Betty Jean Bailey Balch, two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Balch Ragland and husband, David, and Jill Allison Balch Coon and husband, Murray. Three beautiful granddaughters, Niki and husband Patrick, Elizabeth and husband Jeremy , Allyson and one grandson, Dylan. Two great granddaughters, Hannah and Olivia. One great grandson Jude and extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at Moss Service Chapel May 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM with Burial to follow at Cullman City Cemetery.
