On Sunday, August 12, 2012 John Kugler passed away at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert at the age of 80 years. John was born on November 7, 1931 in Cudworth. He is survived by his brother George (Rita), Edmonton; sister-in-law Peggy (Ed), Prince Albert; sister-in-law Rosanna Lauer (Alphonse), Port Coquitlam, BC; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was predeceased by his parents: John in 1974 and Christina (Heck) in 1978 and three brothers: Alphonse, Gerald and Ed.
John spent his whole life, except for the last few years, on the family farm. He was not only a farmer but also a welder and was generous in helping neighbors when their machinery needed to be repaired. John also used his welding skills to invent or reconstruct machinery that he needed on the farm. He had a dry wit and soon had family and friends chuckling at his comments. John deeply loved his family and enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all of us who knew him.
A Vigil of Prayer for John will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
These Services will both be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Cudworth.
The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cudworth. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in honor of John will be gratefully accepted by St. Michael’s Haven, Cudworth and Lakeview Pioneer Lodge, Wakaw. Arrangements are entrusted to Kurtis Rae of Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon 955-1600.
