He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice & Charles and his siblings Dick, Jerry, Billy, Linda and Nancy, his Mother & Father-in-law Judy & David Patek and Brother-in-law Jack Nemirovsky. His two surviving sisters are Patsy Fredelake & Susie Pugh.
Tom will be missed by his wife of 62 years and the love of his life Annette Baber. His two sons, Daniel (Tara) Baber and Michael (Teresa) Baber. His Great Grandchildren Jordan, Luke & Nolan Pearson and Finley & Avery Goodman, Sisters-in-law Rita (Stan) Markovitz & Marlene Schwartz along with his nieces, nephews and so very many good friends.
Tom was a successful businessman his whole life. He rose from being a salesman to Senior Vice President of the NYPS division of GTE.
Two of Tom’s passions in life were airplanes and fishing. Tom was a flight instructor and was certified to fly multi-engine, instrument rated aircraft. He also enjoyed boats and fishing restoring his own 17ft Thompson Lapstrake wooden boat. He shared that passion for fishing with his son Daniel. There was always a competition on who caught the biggest fish. Tom was always a golfer, but in his later years one of the things he looked forward to most was his weekly golf excursions with his son Mike - sometimes even twice a week.
Tom was a devout Christian and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. His love for his
family was his greatest joy, whether you called him Husband, Dad, Brother, Grampy, Uncle or Tommy he was an amazing man. He leaves a legacy of kindness unmatched by any human we’ve ever known. He lived his life for all of us. The world needs more people like him; ones that are courageous and true; ones that don’t judge or criticize but rather steadily prays unselfishly for others. He will be in our hearts forever.
