Louise Biss, age 99 1/2, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born February 16, 1925 in Chicago to Frank and Cecelia (Kerpec) Kuczera.
Louise retired as a secretary after working at Irving School in Berwyn. She enjoyed being a volunteer at the Berwyn Public Library. Louise was a goodwill ambassador at The Fountains of Crystal Lake where she has lived for the last 10 years, as well as taking part in their arts & crafts program. She loved reading all types of books and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Louise will be greatly missed by her children, Harriet A. Johnson and James M. (Jean M.) Biss; her four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew W. Biss; her granddaughter, Kristen M. Biss; and her son-in-law, Kurt Johnson.
There will be a gathering from 2pm until the 3pm memorial service on Thursday, October 24 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
