Alexander McNutt, 74, died February 24th, 2011 in Scottsdale Arizona. A long time Crystal Lake resident, Al spent the winters in Arizona with his wife Loyce. He was a retired United Airlines pilot, having flown with them for 34 years. Al was a member of the United States Air Force for four years prior to joining United. He loved to fly and continued to fly glider planes in his retirement. He faithfully attended Alliance Bible Church in McHenry, IL, and actively participated in several ministries including Prison Fellowship, various nursing home ministries, and The Gideons International.
Al is survived by his wife, Loyce McNutt of Crystal Lake, and daughters Leslie (Dave) Kruser and Sylvia (Bill) Schafer. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie and Alex Kruser, Joshua Bloomfield, and Nathan and Alexandria Schafer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Hugh McNutt and Sylvia Brush.
He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday, March 2nd at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 3rd at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 485 W Woodstock Ave. Crystal Lake, IL. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
