Stanley Michniewicz

Stanley Michniewicz, a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on December 17th, 2024, surrounded by the love and care of his family. He was 68 years old.

Born on November 16, 1956, in Illinois, Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Joan and Stanley Michniewicz. He was raised with love, strong values, and a deep sense of community that would guide him throughout his life. Stanley graduated from Hanover High School in 1974, where he was known for his strong work ethic, kindness, and sense of humor. He continued his education at Indiana University, where he pursued his passion for learning and laid the foundation for his successful career in sales.

In his early years, Stanley enjoyed spending time on the golf course, where he shared countless memorable rounds with his friends. Stanley’s passion for golf was just one of many ways he embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of fun.

Stanley’s career took him on many travels, totaling around forty plus countries, and he enjoyed the opportunity to explore new places through his work. He approached his travels with curiosity and a love for meeting new people, always bringing back stories and experiences that enriched his life and the lives of those around him.

He married his true love, Nancy Michniewicz, and together they shared a life filled with laughter, love, and support. Their bond was a testament to the strength of their partnership, and Stanley’s unwavering love for Nancy was evident in everything he did.

Stanley was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age, a condition that presented him with countless challenges over the years. However, those who knew him will remember Stanley not for his illness, but for his remarkable strength, resilience, and ever-present smile.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Nancy; and his children, David, Kari (Andrew Perillo), Cody (Cortney Michniewicz), and Alex, whom he cherished dearly. His love for his children extended to his four grandchildren, Chase, Charlie, Evie, and Leo, who brought him endless joy and pride; as well as two dogs. Molly and Roxi.

Stanley, a kind and generous man, will be remembered for his strength, his sense of humor, and his ability to make those around him feel loved and valued. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, integrity, and compassion.

A visitation for Stanley will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Burial will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
