Nina Jean was born August 2, 1945 in Eolia, Kentucky, to the late Cleamond and Nella Jane (Collier) Scott. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Kenneth Ray, Robert Odus, Ralph Douglas, Morris David, and Randolph Scott.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Wendell E. Banks; children and grandchildren, Wendell Duane Banks, Kayla Marie Banks; Tammy Lynn (Drake) Deavours and Courtney Alyce Deavours; sisters, Catherine Louise (Wilbert) Powers, and Anita Sue (Harold) Winchell; and many nieces and nephews.
After marrying Wendell in 1961, she and her husband moved from Kentucky to Northwest Indiana. Nina was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, who dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She also was an award winning Avon Sales Representative for over 30 years, where she built many lasting friendships. She was a faithful member of First Baptist of Griffith Church,and gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 12, at her mother's church in Kentucky. She passed away, as she lived her life, surrounded by, protecting, and caring for her family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 3-7 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375). And again at 10:00 am preceding the funeral, which will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 15 2016 at HopeSpring Church (324 N. Colfax; Griffith, IN 46319).
