Larry Scotty (Scotty) Scott Sr.

Larry "Scotty" Scott Sr., 69, of Lowell, IN, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 with his family by his side. He was born September 30, 1941 in Olney, IL to Wade and Marjorie (nee Alspach) Scott. He was a graduate of Hammond Tech High School, Class of 1959. He married Jo Ann (nee Gerasin) Scott on June 25, 1966 and she survives. Scotty worked as the plant manager at Quanex LaSalle Steel in Hammond, IN before retiring after 30 years. After retirement, Larry worked part time at the True Value Hardware Store in Cedar Lake, where he will always be remembered as "True Value Larry". He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and also the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 2529. Scotty is also survived by a son, Larry W. (Marsha) Scott Jr.; daughter, Tammy Scott; sisters: Carol Takacs and Diane (Stan) Deaton; six grandchildren: Jordan, Deion, Lucas, Jillian...a.k.a. "Weesda", Colton and Gianna; and many nieces and nephews will also mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Scott and a niece, Regina Deaton. The funeral service for Scotty will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, IN. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, January 31, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
