Betty June Johnson

She is survived by her children, Linda (Harry) Rodriguez, Mark (Susan) Schiessle, Phillip J. Schiessle and Christine (Barry) Wornhoff; step daughter, Kim (Bruce) Dunn; grandchildren, Brian (Kathy) Collins, Danielle (Art) Azcona, David Rodriguez, Logan (Kylee) Schiessle, Kathy Jo (Robert) Peterson, Lida Sparks, Kristina Sparks, Lyette (Shawn) Perkins, Clara Sparks and Katie Dunn; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (late Jan) Alexander and Ronald (Rochelle) Halsen; many nieces,nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by husband, William J. Johnson; son, Edward Johnson and daughter, Laura Sparks.

Betty was born September 20, 1929 in Hammond, IN to the late Sigurd and Edith Halsen and attended Dyer High School. She enjoyed playing games, gardening, traveling, shopping and spending time with her grandkids. Betty was always willing to help those in need.

Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Wittenberg for their tender and compassionate care.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Rebecca Sundquist officiating.

Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.

Due to the current conditions of Covid-19, masks are required for attendance at the funeral home and cemetery.
