Betty Ann Eaton

Betty A. Eaton age 89, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She is survived by her children, Wanda (Warren) McConnell, Sterling (Pam) Eaton, Mel (Linda) Eaton and Frank (Suzanne) Eaton; step daughter, Rosa Lee (late Carl) Propst; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 6 step great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin M. Eaton; stepson, Melvin L. Eaton; 4 sisters; 2 brothers and 2 step great grandsons. Betty was born May 3, 1930 in Griffith, IN to the late Peter and Sarah Grugel and was a 1948 graduate of Griffith High School. On May 28, 1948, on the morning of her high school graduation, she married the love of her life, Melvin Eaton and together they raised 4 children. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Thrifty Kleen and enjoyed sewing for her family. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Rebecca Sundquist officiating. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
