Pauline Patricia Jara Waller of Cortlandt Manor, NY passed away peacefully at home on September 12th after a long battle with cancer. She was 64 years old. Pauline was born to Raul and Grace Jara on October 20, 1950 in Santiago, Chile. She graduated from Mary Louis Academy in 1968 and received a BA in Communications from Fordham University in 1972. She then earned a MBA degree from Pace University in 1988. Pauline married Christopher Waller in 1977, and they lived in Yonkers, NY, Chappaqua, NY, and Geneva, Switzerland, before settling in Cortlandt Manor in 1993. Pauline excelled in the field of advertising, marketing, and graphic design. Besides owning her own marketing business for several years, she held positions of leadership in organizations such as UNICEF, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Pitney Bowes, and the Girl Scouts of the USA. She was a dedicated professional who earned the respect and trust of her colleagues. Pauline was an active parishioner at St. Augustine's Church in Ossining, NY. She was a lifelong learner who enjoyed painting, art, music, reading, cooking, and being close to the sea. She was a member and then later elected president of the local Toastmasters club. But above all else, she loved her family. She was an example to all of us of how a good life should be lived.Besides her husband Pauline is survived by her daughter, Christine Murphy, her son-in-law, Ryan Murphy, and her beloved granddaughter, Emma. She leaves behind her mother, Grace Jara, her sister, Dominique Jara and her husband, Eric Landis, her brother, Christian Jara and his wife, Valerie Sayers, her brother, Rod Jara, and her brother, Marc Jara and his wife, Elise. Besides numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, she will also be missed by her mother-in-law, Natalie Waller, and her two sister-in-laws, Jackie Morrison and Joanne Griggs.In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that a donation be made to either the Girl Scouts of the USA, P.O. A wake will be held on Wednesday, September 16th from 4pm to 8pm at the Edward F. Carter Funeral Home at 41 Grand Street, Croton, NY. A funeral mass will follow on Thursday, September 17th, at 5pm at St. Christopher's Church located on Albany Post Road in Buchanan, NY.
