NICHOLAS ALLEN MEADOWS, born July 14, 1995 in Charleston, West Virginia. He had just turned 29 years old when he left this earth to meet his Lord and Savior on July 15, 2024 . Son of James and Donna Meadows, he is survived by his mother Donna and his brother Trevor Meadows. He is preceded in death by his father James (Jim) Meadows, paternal grandparents, Sylvan and Helen Meadows and maternal grandparents Glenn and Eulene Sprinkles.
It goes without saying, Nick was a loving son, brother and best friend to many. Kind, generous to a fault, his hugs meant the world, especially to his mom. His infectious smile could turn a dark day bright, yet he was always searching, wanting that real purpose in life.
He had a love for old cars and dreamed of restoring his 68 Roadrunner and 79 Trailduster but life was cut short. He had more knowledge about cars in his brain than most men have in a life time. He had this God given talent for music. He could listen to a song once and then start playing it on his guitar. He also played the baritone saxophone.
Earlier in life he practiced Shaolin martial arts, earning his black belt. I don’t think he ever took it seriously because he was always smiling when sparring but he made a true friend there in Jim Mooney.
He cared deeply for his friends – James Meeks and wife Mandie, Zachary Cannon, Zachary Lyons and Cody Lawhon just to name a few of the many. In the words of Cody, “(Nick)…you had one of the most genuine hearts I’ve seen. You truly are a good guy…you cared about being a good person. You were the type of guy to give a stranger the shirt off your back.” Humbled by the outpouring of love by his closest friends, we are forever indebted.
Nick was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church where he sometimes worked part time. He was employed by Dutch Miller Subaru of Charleston as a Service Technician and former employee of FedEx in Nitro. He graduated from Nitro High School, attended Putnam Country Technical Center, Carver Career Center – Welding, West Virginia State and West Virginia University – Mechanical Engineering.
Nick…you were loved by so many. Sealed by God’s love and mercy – we will see you someday “on the other side.”
A service to celebrate Nick’s life will be held on July 20, 2024 at Cross Lanes Baptist Church, 102 Knollwood Drive, Cross Lanes, WV. Visitation will begin at 12:00 with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm. Pastor Seth Polk presiding.
Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
