She was born in Princeton, WV on November 30, 1945. She lived most of her life in the Charleston area before moving to Bluefield in 2018 to be closer to family.
She was predeceased by the love of her life, Robert “David” Payne, mother Ethel Anderson, brother Peewee Anderson and nephew Terry Pennington, Jr. She is survived by her children Melva Adkins (Teddy), Cindy Coche (Jim) Scott Rose (Paul) Ricky Rose (Gayleen) and Missy Sigmon (Bobby). She is also survived by 7 brothers and sisters; Terry Pennington, Sr., Ronnie Carter, David Carter, Ginger Whittaker, Connie Edwards, Jerri Hudnall, Marylou Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Nancy was a dear and generous soul who was loved by many. She loved her family and friends and was known for being there for them in times of hardship. Her door was always open to anyone at anytime in need of a homemade meal or bed.
She attended Christian Mission Church in Bluefield and enjoyed spending time with family. Her favorite pastimes were yard sales/flea markets and couponing. She was also a great cook.
Celebration of Betty’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 until time of service at the funeral home.
