Leslie and I were best friends all thru school. My mother and her mother lived across the street while they were pregnant. I was born on September 14 and Leslie on the 17 so we played together until we moved when I six but we still were always in the same class. She came to visit me about 1985?? where I live here in Myrtle Beach. I loved her. We use to spend weeks in the summer at her grandmothers in Tornado, WV. I miss her ❤️

I have been searching for Leslie for a very long time and now she is gone. Our mothers were best friends and lived across the street from each other. They were both having a baby so I was born on September 14 and Leslie on the 17. We were best friends all through school. I spent many times with her on Falls Creek laying on her grandma’s bed watching for Niles to come by! We rode all up in the hills and had great times together. We visited together here in Myrtle Beach years ago and then I lost touch. I loved her!

Leslie and I grew up together on Fall Creek sharing a deep love of horses.  We rode every chance we got and very often with Nile and Sonny Pullin.  Most weekends as soon as our chores were done we took off  for hours on trail rides all over the hills. As it happens when you grow up, we all went our separate ways but looking back  I understand how blessed we were to be able to share a special friendship at a great time in our lives.  Leslie was a loyal friend, kind, funny and always up for an adventure.  She was the kind of friend who when you think of her you smile.

Everyone has people and experiences which hold prominent positions in their memories.  For me Leslie is one of those people.  We grew up together on Falls Creek and the experiences we shared riding horseback together are among the most prominent in my life. Even though we went our separate ways after school, I never forgot her and we briefly connected again just a few years ago.  I now wish it had been more.  She was a wonderful person.  The news of her passing comes as a surprise and I sense a feeling of loss.  My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.

I did not know her well, but we were classmates and graduated together.  May she RIP with her Heavenly Father and for her family, may all the beautiful memories you share, help to heal the void left by her passing.    Because He lives, we too shall live!!!  

Our grandmother had a farm on Falls Creek and  Leslie and I spent our summers on horseback roaming the countryside and galloping on dirt roads.  Leslie was amazing on horseback and won medals with her show horse “Champ”.   I married and moved out of state but came home a year later and went to visit Leslie.  She and Earl had two horses so she and I went for a ride.  .  My horse stumbled and I flew over his head ending up with both feet tangled in reins and the horse looking down at me.  I can still see her sitting on her horse laughing hysterically while I lay there wondering if I am about to be dragged.  Her message to me was “All the crazy things we had done on those horses (which I will not share )and here we are at a walk and you end up on the dirt with legs up in the air.”  I thought she was never going to stop laughing and save me.  We would continue to remember this scenario each time we were together and start laughing again.   She was a wonderful cousin and friend.
