Larry D. Cottrell, 76, of Charleston, passed away August 27, 2017. He was born July 31, 1941, in Speed, the son of Paul and Carletta Raider Cottrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, and son, Larry David Cottrell Jr. Larry was a St. Albans High School graduate. He was a retired truck driver, formerly employed with Kroger and most recently CRST. Larry was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing cards and going to Antique Car Shows. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Wofford (Pete); grandchildren, Chelsey Hamilton, David Cottrell, Catrina Hapney (Robert), Charles Young (Heidi), Richard Turley, Daniel Turley; great-grandchldren, Andrew, Alijah, Victoria, Lillian, Olivia Young, Justin Hapney; brothers, Jim Cottrell and Sam Cottrell; sister, Linda Shreves; stepson, Rick Turley (Debbie); and daughters-in-law, Vicky Wolfe and Kathy Cottrell. Celebraton of Larry's life will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service.
