He was born July 5, 1951 in Charleston, the son of Albert Ray and Willa Edens Lycans, Sr. both preceded him in death.
Sonny was a self employed contractor. He loved working on and was a car enthusiast. A loving dad, grandfather, great grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Terry Godbey (Melissa Allred), Chelsea Devitt, Sonny Ann Lycans, Sonny Lee Lycans, Dwayne Ethen Bench, Dwayne Bench, grandchildren, Tyler Godbey, Kasey Williams, great grandchildren, Tyson Godbey, Elli Godbey, Ace Godbey, and Theo Williams.
Celebration of Sonny’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes with Harrison Stollings officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
