Hughie was a loving Father, Grandfather, and loved spending time with his family. He was a lover of WVU Football, not missing a game. He loved unconditionally and never met a stranger. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh.
Hughie was born November 6, 1956 to the late Carl Edward Scarberry and Mary Louisa (Staley) Scarberry.
In addition to his parents, Hughie was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Ed Scarberry, Dennis Ray Scarberry, and Rodger Scarberry; and sisters, Ruby Mae Scarberry, and Mary Ann (Scarberry) Simmons.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Chasity Petitt (Andrew), Daneka Young (Hoby), Mathew Mallory (Kayci), Hughie Scarberry Jr, and David Scarberry; Kimberly Scarberry, wife of 29 years; grandchildren, Scott Mullins (Rachel), Arielle Mullins, Roby Young, Blake Leavitt-Mallory, Kayti Mallory, and Brenden Mallory; brothers, William Scarberry, and Joe Scarberry; sisters, Brenda Ritchie (Bug), and Edna Danford.
A visitation for Hughie will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, West Virginia 25313, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Grant Petitt Jr. officiating.
