Donald Smith

He was born June 23, 1952 in Wayne, to Clarence L. and Bernice J. Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Brenda Gail Smith, his mother and father in law, James and Wilma Blankenship, niece Donna Reed and brother in law, James “Bo” Brooks.

Don was a US Navy Veteran where he dedicated 20 years to proudly serving his country. After retiring from the military, Don attended Marshall University where he received a degree in Computer Science. After graduating, he worked at Amazon until he permanently retired.

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Jeremy) Mount, of Ona, and by son, Jeremy (Amanda) Smith, of Huntington. Survivors also include one brother, David Smith, of Huntington, and sisters, Brenda (Kenneth) Reed, of Valley City, OH, and Patricia “Patty” Martin (Greg Berry), of East Lynn, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Donald’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 12, 2024 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes with full military graveside rites conducted by the US Navy and St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
