She was born April 12, 1946 in Dahlgren to Raymond L. and Orpha L. (Steele) Bond. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Zana Beckman and three brothers, Marvin, Gary and Gayle Bond.
Surviving are one daughter, Deanna McDonald of Chillicothe; one son, Darin (Sarah) Funk of Peoria; six grandchildren, Megan (Drew) Williams of Bartonville, Marisa Weech, Mikayla Weech, Rachel Weech, all of Chillicothe, Duncan (Kylee) Bigger of Pekin and Orbs Bigger of Peoria; one great-granddaughter, Ella Williams of Bartonville; two sisters, Debbie (John) Dorothy and Linda Parker, both of Peoria and two brothers, Jerry (Sherri) Bond of Round Rock, Texas and David (Nancy) Bond of Washington.
Sharon had worked as a transportation coordinator at Central Illinois Agency on Aging in Peoria for 15 years before retiring in 2022.
She enjoyed doing macramé, singing and most importantly was spending quality time with and taking care of her family.
Sharon was a longtime member of El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023 at El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria. Pastor Joey Watt will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the church. Additional visitation will be from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the church. Burial will be at Fon du lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
