Marlin Dean Kelso

He was born May 31, 1965 in Peoria to Marion and Dorothy (Peckenpaugh) Kelso.

Surviving are Marty’s mom, Dorothy; long-term partner, Tina Martinez of East Peoria; Tina’s children, Nicole (Brandon) Scott and Brandon Cumming; Tina’s grandson, Declan Scott; one sister, Barbara (Tim) Gough of East Peoria and three nephews, Nathan, Ben and Matthew Gough.

He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Marty worked as an HVAC technician, landscaper, electrician and most recently at Eureka College as a maintenance technician.

He liked to stay busy tinkering in his workshop, riding his motorcycle, or enjoying the company of his birds, cat and dogs.

His graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 at Fon du Lac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.

Tina expresses this to Marty, “Marty you told me from day one, ‘It's you and me against the world.’ You were one tough man and I was so honored to be by your side through it all. Rest easy Marty, love you more.”
