Virgie (Carolyn) was a native of Lufkin, TX and resident of the Lafayette, LA area for a great part of her life. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, a fantastic cook, and a helpful friend to all neighbors. She attended LSUE to become an LPN. She was a faithful and attentive nurse at Charity Hospital in New Orleans.
She moved to Picayune, MS where she received a Master Gardener Degree and enjoyed putting that education into her gardening, farming, and raising chickens. She embraced a country style of life. She continued her passion for gardening as she moved to her final residence in Mandeville, LA.
The family would like to recognize and thank Grace Funeral Home, Dignity Memorial, the hospice team of Traditions Health and the sitting services of Mrs. Rose. The combined services provided kindness, compassion, dignity and care.
Virgie (Carolyn) would want us to plant a garden of any kind or size in her memory.
