Janet Moreaux Kuntz passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 70. She was born on January 5, 1954, in New Orleans, LA and spent most of her life in the Mandeville area. Surrounded by her loved ones she passed peacefully into Our Lord’s hands and was at peace within herself, a caring and loving mother and grandmother.
She had four things in life that she treasured, her family and friends, her faith, her travels, and cooking. Jan received the Order of St. Louis from Archbishop Gregory Aymond and was a member of the Northshore Legatus. She graduated from USL in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1977 and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, serving as a Past President.
Jan is survived by her beloved husband August “Gus” Kuntz; her daughters Amanda Kuntz Snyder (Dillon) and Alison K. Kuntz, and her grandchild Caiman A. Snyder. She is also survived by her sisters Catherine Moreaux Marino (Darryl) and Ella Moreaux Marchand (Gary); Her Father-in-Law August “Happy” Kuntz, brother-in-law Eric R. Kuntz (Sue) and sister-in-law Patty Kuntz as well as numerous extended family members.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Malcolm Moreaux, Sr. and Joanne Blanchard Moreaux and her brother Harold Moreaux. Her Mother-in-Law Beverly Birrcher Kuntz and brother-in-law Kenneth M. Kuntz.
A Remembrance of Jan’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 W Causeway Approach, Mandeville, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Ronald Calkins, at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow the services in St. Lazarus of Bethany Memorial Garden under the direction and care of Grace Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jan Kuntz may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
