David R. Burns, Jr. left this world on the 24th of April, at the age of 76. He was born on August 10, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to David Burns, Sr. and Catherine Del Buono Burns. He was preceded in death by his sister Catherine Burns Smith.
David was a graduate of Chalmette High School, and worked in Information Technology for many years. Never one to follow the rules, he could turn any random day into an adventure. He was a devoted husband to Jeanette Artigue Burns and loving father to David and Kristina. His greatest treasures were his children, son-in-law Clayton Holden, godchildren and nieces and nephews, who knew him as “Uncle D”. He will be remembered for his often sarcastic wit, sometimes (ok, frequent) colorful language, and always generous heart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Monday, April 29, at Grace Funeral Home, located near Mandeville, at 450 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America at https://myasthenia.org/.
