A 59 year resident of West Covina, CA, Evelyn was Pre-deceased by her husband of 57 years Bob and son Joe. Survived by her daughter Kathleen, son Bob and his wife Jan. She had a special love for her grandchildren Tamera, Mark, Joe, Michael, Bobby, Audra and Ashley, and her great grandchildren, Brian, Alex, Caite, Courtney, Rachel, Rebecca, Reyna, Mikey, Sandy, Jessie, Robby Tommy, Tucker and Evelyn. She is also survived by her loving sister Florence Cummings, brother Joe Gualano and numerous nieces and nephews.
Known to all simply as Nana, she touched the hearts of all who knew her and lived a long and fulfilling life. Her grandchildren were her first love, followed by her beautiful needlepoint at which she excelled and won many honors at the LA County Fair. She also took pride in her colorful garden and loved to travel. Her trip to the Vatican in 2001 was one of the highlights of her life, along with a ride over San Francisco bay in a B-17 bomber at the ripe age of 88.
Nana was a 35 year employee of May Company Eastland and is fondly remembered by all her friends and associates from her days there.
Viewing 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at Custer Christiansen Mortuary, Covina, CA, followed by a Rosary. The funeral mass will be held Friday, June 1st, at 10 a.m. at St. Lorenzo Ruiz Catholic Church 747 Meadow Pass Rd., Walnut, CA, interment to follow at Oakdale Memorial Park, Glendora, CA.
